Dr. Willcocks is an Adjunct Assistant Research Scientist in the Department of Physical Therapy. Her research is focused on muscle structure and function in children, particularly in boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. She is particularly interested in using magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy to measure skeletal muscle health and performance in children. Dr. Willcocks completed her training at the University of Victoria in Canada and at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom before joining the University of Florida in 2011. Since joining the University of Florida, she has worked to develop magnetic resonance biomarkers for use in clinical trials in Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
