Mike has been a Florida Gator since 1983. He received a B.S. in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida. Mike has 29 years of basic science research experience spending most of that time studying the role of leptin in central regulation of food consumption and energy expenditure. He crossed over into the field of muscle biology in 2015. He is an outdoor enthusiast who loves gardening, cooking, and sharing wine with good friends.

Jason Puglise, Ph.D.

Jason is a military veteran who served four years as an US Army medic. With specialized training in cell and molecular biology, he has extensive hands-on experience in cell culture as well as basic research working in academia, government, and industry. A Trekkie and Star Wars enthusiast, he enjoys racquetball and video games and participating in local Meetup groups.
