Kushmerick Lecture and Myology Retreat

Marty Kushmerick Memorial Lecture

The Myology Institute annual retreat will be centered around an outside lecture in the muscle field held in the memory of Dr. Martin J Kushmerick who passed away in June 2019. Through Marty’s distinguished career he trained or influenced the work of a number of members of the Myology Institute. Dr. P. Bryant Chase, a Post-doctoral Fellow and colleague of  Dr. Kushmerick, will present “An energetic life in science: Yes, that would be wonderful!”. The lecture will held in the Auditorium of the Harn Museum on UF campus from 3:30-4:30pm, on Friday, March 29, 2024.

Myology Institute Annual Retreat

The Myology Institute Retreat will be on Friday, March 29, 2024 following the Kushmerick Memorial Lecture. NEW this year we will also select some of the trainee (pre or post-doctoral fellows) abstracts for short presentation following the Marty Kushmerick Lecture. We will again host our poster session and reception (food and beverages provided) following the Kushmerick and trainee lectures from 5:30-7:30 in the Harn Museum Gallery.

Please let us know you are coming and if you will be bringing a poster through our simple registration form below. There is no cost for this event, we simply need head counts for seats, food & beverage, and poster counts for poster boards. All trainees (pre and post-doctoral fellows) hoping to provide a short talk must submit an abstract for consideration. PLEASE NOTE THE MYOLOGY INSTITUTE RETREAT IS NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, THIS IS A PRIVATE EVENT.
